"I really should go," I told Aidan.

Aidan did not try to stop me. Instead, he held out a timid offering. "May I have a way to contact you? A phone number? Or perhaps your address?"

I hesitated. No good would come from prolonging this exchange. Turning away, I answered him with a vague promise, "I'll reach out first, Aidan."
