My heart felt as though it had splintered into a thousand irreparable shards when I learned Wendy was Alpha Henry's mate, and again when Wendy brushed my hand away.

"I'm going to die," I said to my wolf, Dean.

Dean tried to comfort me. "Don't do this, Aidan. You didn't know that she was even alive. The news we got said Wendy was dead. Her being here, breathing, is a miracle."
