"Yes… I will." The words slipped out before I even realized it.

"Thank you." He said softly, taking my hand. I didn’t pull away this time, and let him hold it, still unsure of what I was doing or why.

He opened the door, and the patient from earlier was still there, standing by the wall. His face showed quiet frustration when he saw us come out.
