Kaira's POV

The car slowed to a smooth stop in front of a building with a golden-lit entrance. The tires rolled softly over the stone pavement, and before I could reach for the handle, a security officer in a crisp black uniform opened the door with a bow.

"Thank you."

I stepped out, straightening to take in the sight. This was definitely a place where I did not belong.

"What's this place for?" I said in a whisper, scanning the surroundings.
