The elevator door slides open without a sound.

My heart is pounding right up into my throat.

I step out, and my feet glue themselves to the floor instantly.

The whole damn balcony floor is made of glass. I can see the entire city down there, tiny lights spreading out like a net waiting to catch me if I fall.
