Cypher quickly bowed his head "I'm sorry sir. It won't happen again" he apologized.
"Leave us"the boss said and he walked away.
I nervously gulped saliva down my throat. I didn't expect he'd ever be in this room. What exactly did he want? He took steady steps closer to me and I took steps backwards. I had watched scenes like this in movies. It never ended well. Until, I hit my back up against the wall, I knew I was doomed.
"Did you like what you saw?"he came up to me and whispered.
I had to squint my eyes to be sure I clearly heard what he asked. "What are you taking about?"I replied naively
"Hmmm. Okay"he muttered.
I pushed him away from me instantly. Somehow, I had a feeling he was talking about last night "I'm sorry, I woke up late. I'm sorry I didn't eat your dinner. I get now, that everything I do here is compulsory. I just want to know, how long will I be here?"I asked earnestly hoping he'd reply but unfortunately got no response from him. He was always calm. He never reacted quickly. I liked it and may be I could use it to my favour.
"I want to talk to my family. I want to make sure they are okay. Please"I added.
He smacked his slightly pink lips and muttered. "You must earn yourself every call that you make to your family and you know, you've not really been a good girl"he cooed.
I stared at him in disgust as I arched my brows.
He suddenly grabbed my hands and pinned me against the wall, with my hands above my head. His head bent to my neck and he sniffed it. Oh my God.
"You should be good. You know Adele, I can be very mean, the same way I can be very calm. You don't want to see that side, do you?"he sniffed my neck again, this time slowly planting a soft kiss on it. I shivered in disgust and sweetness almost finding the feel of his lip on my neck satisfying.
"For every mistake, a punishment is deserved and for every good a reward is deserved. How about we go by these? Hmm? Adele?"he whispered against my ears.
I clamped my lips tightly because I wasn't sure if I wanted to speak.
"No response? Alright."
I thought he was going to leave me but instead, his finger went down to my jean and he unbuttoned it. His fingers rubbed my skin beneath and I shivered even more.
"Alright. Alright. I heard you."I finally said at once, in hitched breath.
He stopped his hand-play but didn't remove his hand.
"That sounds more like a good girl now."he smirked "You will have your breakfast now, then, we head to business" he finally let go of me.
I held my knees, so, I won't end up falling to the ground. What did he do to me? Once I was balanced, I quickly did my jean button and tried to steady my breathe.
"Sit Adele, and eat"he gestured to the seat near me and I did. While he sat on the couch, his right leg on-top his left, patiently waiting, I nervously began to eat the food.
He stared at me all through the eating, like I was the most important asset in the world at that moment. I was curious of why he really had me and why he behaved the way he did cause from all the stories I heard, he wasn't a man of nice characters. But that wasn't what I saw here. I saw a calm and determined man. Once I was done eating, I packed all the plates and picked up the tray to return it but he stopped me.
"Leave it. Cypher will do the rest. Shall we?"he said.
It was time for work and I knew it. I dropped the tray on the table and then moved along with him. We walked out of the building and trekked a long distance of what seemed like forever before we finally arrived at a very sophisticated building.
"What are we doing here?" I brazenly asked.
"Work."he briefly replied, his tone serious and he walked in, I knew I had to follow even though my heart beat raced at that moment. The inside was filled with an array of technological equipment. It was unlike anything I had ever seen, and I felt a sense of awe. The room was dimly lit, and the atmosphere was strange and unsettling. There were men seated around a round table, all dressed in dark brown suits. I noticed that they were segregated by race - one group of men were black, and the other group were white. I wondered if this was some kind of racist organization. What exactly did these people run apart from drugs? And what was this I was noticing since I came here the previous day? Racism? The boss sat down and he gestured me to take a seat beside him, I did.
"Well, well. Someone finally decided to show up today" a white man two seats after me said. I could perceive ridicule from his words.
"And he didn't only show up, but he brought a guest. How sweet"another white man stifled a chuckle.
From what I could observe, it was only the white men, who talked or made a sign of mockery with their face expressions and body languages except a seemingly raven haired white man, who sat six seats after me. He exuded a dangerous demeanor and he hadn't moved or said anything however I could feel his gaze on the boss all along. The black men were quiet. I wonder what was going through everyones mind but still I just wanted to leave.
After minutes of mockery and laughter, the raven haired white man abruptly stood from his seat. His height was so overbearing. "I'm leaving"he said. I loved his voice but for some reason, I didn't like him. Did I even like anyone here?
"What! Khalid!"his white counterpart held him back.
Khalid turned, his gaze sharply on the boss "I won't stoop so low to have a meeting here with a foreigner brought in by a forgiven betrayer"he spoke, obviously bittered.
"Kodak, you know what he is saying"another white man chipped in.
Kodak? Kodak? Who? The boss?
"Aren't you tired of displaying all the time Khalid?"a black man finally spoke and all eyes turned to him.
"Does it hurt you that Kodak was given a second chance? You are brewing a death coffee Khalid"he continued.
"What second chance Stephan? How dare you?" a white man attacked.
"Hahahahahaha"Khalid burst into feigned hysteric laughter "Do you mind Stephan? Lecture me black man!"
"Khalid! Let's keep it low!" His counterpart held him to stop any further ruckus.
"I'm leaving and till Kodak learns to have manners, count me out of any meeting hence forth!"Khalid finalised and before anyone could stop him, he stormed out.
"Fuck! Can we just have a peaceful meeting with you two brothers not causing issues"another white man said and stormed out as well.
Everyone soon began to leave the room, till it was just me and Kodak left.
"Aren't we leaving?" I turned to him and said but got no reply, more like he avoided to speak with me.
"Why?"I asked "why did you bring me here, when you knew it was going to be troublesome?"
"It's all part of the plan"he finally replied.
"Plan? What plan?" I creased my brow in confusion.
"You don't question me Adele!" he suddenly yelled.
I shrieked at once. Did I provoke him? What exactly was going on? There was a long brooding silence before he finally said.
"I want you to work for me not question me. You can't do anything right with being inquisitive"he muttered.
I was silent for a while and I suddenly felt emotional with tears slowly building up in my eyes. "I don't wanna be here"I cried.
"Then earn your stay here"he finalised and stood up "wipe your tears, we are heading somewhere"he said.
I quickly cleaned my eyes, making a resolve that I was only going to question when neccessary and I will do my best to observe because I had to leave here as quick as I could. It was a surprise when we got into a car and drove away from the mysterious facility we had been in. I wondered where we were going but I knew it was definitely out of the drug camp. When we pulled up to a shopping mall, I was even more confused. Was this some kind of shopping trip? We entered the mall and took the elevator to the upper floor, where we arrived at a special clothing section. A store attendant came over to greet us, and I stood there awkwardly, wondering what was going on. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I knew that whatever it was, it wasn't going to be so great.
"Welcome again Mr Roland"she bowed
Roland? Really? Pftt. He uses two different names?
