Birdie's POV

We all sat on the couch after dinner, and I watched the news as Theo and Dad talked about work. I wasn’t very interested in their talk, so I kept my eyes on the TV.

Dad was sitting next to me and Theo was on the other side of the couch, and I had pulled a blanket over my legs to keep them warm.
