Panic coursed through Lief, but it was brief. He moved fast, and before the door opened, he picked up his phone and closed the laptop with a soft click, then hid. He held his breath and waited, then he saw Stephan. He had noticed him with Varkas a few times when Ryker had told him to monitor Varkas.
