An earth-shattering sound tore through the sky like a blade through flesh days after the attack on our pack.

The earth trembled beneath it as if it were threatened by an earthquake. Stones rattled, trees shivered, and birds scattered in terrified flocks.

“What was that?” One of the Alphas looked around. We were in the middle of a deliberation when we felt the tremor.
