The next day, I met with my mother briefly during breakfast. She wouldn’t stop fussing, but it warmed my heart. She loved me, and I could feel it.

I took my time with breakfast, then proceeded to speak with Lyra over the phone, coaxing her with words to stop being mad at me, and promising that I was going to make it up to her. Regarding that, I don’t think she took me seriously at all.
