This was my chance.

My eyes widened in shock as I took in the silence that followed from Lyra’s declaration. My gaze swept quickly to Ryker. His expression was unreadable, yet he never accepted her rejection.

I couldn’t let this moment go to waste. I hadn’t bargained for Lyra to outrightly reject Ryker. Neither did I expect that she was pregnant.
