Vienna glances back at Alan again, her smile curious and amused, but he deliberately avoids meeting her eyes and starts walking away.

"Have you told Vanessa about all this?" she asks, raising a brow.

"I doubt she'd take it well."

"I haven't. I don't think I'll be around long enough for it to matter. We never really got along... so there's no point telling her. I just wanted you to know," Nisan replies, his tone quiet but honest.

They chat a bit longer before he finally takes his leave.
