"Mom, this is great! I can't believe you made this," James said

My mom looked at him with a frown on her face. I had to hold back my laughter. My mom couldn't cook noodles. I don't know why he would think that she made this

"I didn't cook it, your father did" My mother replied

I could see James tense up at my mother calling Max our father. He wasn't comfortable with that and neither was I.

We ate in silence for a moment, eating the food.
