I focused on the match, my mind wandering to Kian. I tapped on the link, asking, “Where are you?” I was fuming. If he didn’t show up, I would do the same to him.

He chuckled, and I could envision the smile on his lips.

“Look to your right,”he said.

I turned and met the brightest smile ever. My shoulders relaxed a bit, and I returned his smile with one of my own. My girls screamed and giggled at our interaction.

“Freya, focus!” my coach yelled out loud.
