I haven't slept in three days. Every time I close my eyes, I see Penelope collapsing in the snow, and hear the sound she made when the bond broke. Like something dying inside of her.

Now I'm sitting in my truck outside the school, watching students head to their morning classes. Looking for honey-blonde hair and hazel eyes that will probably never look at me the same way again.
