Diana's POV
Swirling the cup of wine in my glass, I stared down at the Alpha and Luna screaming at each other with a little smile on my face.
Those two were never meant to get together. Dylan knew it, but he had let the marriage happen. He had accepted her as his mate because of his moron of a father, and now they were fighting, like always.
I had accidentally overdosed the poison in her food, that’s why she wasn’t dead yet. I was sick of the entire strategy; the woman was not meant to be in this house.
Yet she strolled in with a frown, and no one had questioned her integrity or anything. The guards were terrified of her, and I would not let her take my Dylan away from me.
Not today. Not ever.
The glass smashed in my hand and I hissed at its effect, but it quickly healed. Dylan and I had always been destined.
We grew up together, played together, hell, even our parents told us we would get married. I gave him my virginity, knowing one day he was going to be my husband, but lo and behold, Reedah walked in, a fucking princess!
They both continued to fight downstairs, and I smiled at the opportunity I had at hand. The witch had been banished a long time ago, and I wondered why she had suddenly appeared and caused chaos.
I shivered, remembering she had kissed Dylan, but she had made a fool of all of them. I knew she was not dead. A Trident wouldn’t kill a witch, that was way too easy.
Walking downstairs, I heard their voices loud and clear. My darling Dylan was so worked up by that girl.
Letting out a sigh, I walked outside with fear written all over my face.
“Oh, Dylan!” I reached for him. “... You need to calm down, she isn’t worth it,” I whispered gently in his ear, but his eyes were bloodshot from fury and his lips were black as coal.
A witch’s kiss.
I immediately felt mortified. This wasn’t right. If I had to find that nasty witch, then I would, but she would not place the devil’s kiss on the man I would live with for the rest of my life.
“Look at me,” I brushed my fingers through his fur like I had always done when we were younger, and his eyes slowly turned normal. “... She’s not worth it. Come on, let’s figure this out. She might have taken something in the treasure room, who knows?” At that point, I got his attention immediately.
“I am not done talk...” I raised my hand at Reedah, and she gaped at my audacity.
“You will not treat my cousin like a nobody. He has lived way too long for a skimpy bitch like you to even know what true suffering is! You were given instructions, yet you followed none of them! Blame yourself.” I growled at her, and she tried to speak, but Dylan let out a low growl.
Satisfaction coursed through me as he protected me against her. I could see the pain in her eyes, but she glared at me with daggers before walking away, grumbling something about killing me.
I turned to reach for Dylan, but he was no longer there. Then I saw a glimpse of him in the forest before he disappeared through the trees.
I stopped myself from stomping my feet on the floor like a child, but looked on the bright side, his room was empty. But first…
Walking into the house, I made my way to Reedah’s room, which was practically turned upside down.
“Get the hell out of my room!” she growled, but I didn’t budge. “Do not test the patience I have left, Diana, or...”
“Or what? You’re going to scream and ruin the house like the banshee you are? Go on, go ahead and...” My words were cut short as my body was slammed against the wall.
I coughed as the air in my lungs was knocked out. Goddess! She was strong, but still stupid as always.
“You have one second to release me.” I glared down at her, and she growled.
“Be happy that you are still alive. Stay away from Dylan, or I will skin you alive myself.”
I stared at her for a second and burst into pure laughter.
Her hand tightened around my neck, causing me to keep shut.
“Try to kill me, and you’ll see just how fast your darling husband can get rid of you. I’m his only family left, and you want to kill me? How could you be so cruel?” I put my hand against my chest, and she let go of me immediately.
“Get out of my room!” she snapped, but I ignored her again.
“No, you don’t belong here.”
She chuckled.
“And you do? How wonderful. Why don’t you marry the big idiot like...”
I slapped her across the face so hard my palm hurt.
“You are nothing but a low-life princess who is cruel to everyone around her. How can Dylan ever love you?”
“You know nothing about me!” Her eyes glowed gold, and I furrowed my brows in confusion.
Well, that’s new.
“Cut me that crap! I know everything about you, and I know certainly that you are nothing but a breeder in this house. That’s if Dylan even agrees to make you bear his pups!”
She growled and tried to attack me, but stopped.
Wise.
“Diana, I do not know what brought you here, but get the hell out before I do something we will both regret.”
“I will not regret anything concerning you. If you even lay a finger on me, you will ruin the relationship you’ve been working hard to get. But let me tell you some good news, it’s useless! Dylan and I are getting married soon.”
A punch out of nowhere slammed against my face, and blood trickled down my nose.
“You broke my nose!” I screamed as pain coursed through me.
“Keep talking and it will get worse. I am not the Reedah you claim to fucking know!”
“Diana!” I heard Dylan’s voice outside and smiled to see fear cross Reedah’s face.
