Selene’s POV

Aaron drove us back to his house. As soon as we arrived, he went straight to his study to deal with some matters, while I headed to my room to take a shower.

Funny, really—I'd never even spent a single night here, and yet I was already thinking of it as my room.

The faucet squeaked softly when I turned it, and soon warm water cascaded over my skin, soothing and comforting.

"Let it be, let it be. Whisper words of wisdom, let it be…"

I hummed half a verse before stopping to ...
