When Magic Goes Very, Very Wrong

The lock clicked open with a sound that made my stomach flutter. Michele stepped back, gesturing for me to exit first, and I hurried into the hallway before he could change his mind. My legs felt shaky, like they might give out any second, but I forced them to keep moving.

We were going to see D. I was actually going to see him again.
