The first thing that hit me as soon as I opened my eyes was bright lights coming from all directions. I shut them immediately, cursing under my breath.

I waited for a few minutes before trying again.

The room was still bright, but not as overwhelming as before. I blinked carefully, again and again, until everything became clearer.
