Marvin ordered his clothes to be brought to my room as both of us started dressing for work.

“Today we go to work together and I do not want to hear this talk of perception and optics. Anyway, we are getting a fake wife,” Marvin said, smiling.

“Today we are going to see Uncle Johah and we are not getting a fake wife, we are getting a contract wife,” I responded, putting on my dress.

“What is with you and this thing about seeing Uncle Jonah?” Marvin said, asking me like he did not know what he wanted with Uncle Jonah.

“It is the right thing and it is good optics too,” I said.

We got into the car and moved with two other cars behind our car. I had asked for two without letting Marvin know because of the Martinez Gang. I would rather he stayed out of this. It was my business and I am slowly building it.

“Why are we using two entourages?” Marvin asked me.

“I thought we needed more security,” I said.

“If it is because of Lisandro, then you had better clean that sh*t up so that it does not affect us,” Marvin said as if he was giving me permission to do something personally to me since I don’t want his involvement.

“It is about you and not what you think it is. I thought you said you were a black belt holder in Martial arts or is it Judo?” I said.

Marvin turned to me in amazement. It was like I said something wrong. He was shocked at the way I switched the subject.

“So what has that got to do with this?” he asked.

“One is that you owe me a fight and two is that you could protect yourself, so don’t worry you got you covered,” I said.

Marvin laughed, he did not see that coming. He called the office to tell them he would be a bit late. He was still laughing. The secretary on the other side of the call thought she had done something wrong. I wondered if what I had said was that funny or if it was the aura of love that made him laugh.

“Please take us to Uncle Jonah’s place,” he told the driver and turning towards me, “I do not know what you think of me street girl, but I am gonna kick your ass in any battle,” he said, still laughing.

“Oh, I see, bring it on!” I said.

“Deal, this afternoon at the gym club, come with your best moves,” he said.

“Fine. So why are we going to Uncle Jonah’s house this early?” I asked.

“It was your idea and I want this done with, and in time,” he said.

“Yes, I wanted us to go to his place to comfort him, but not this early, he may not be at home and, unlike you, he would have gone to his office,” I said.

“Trust me, that man is still at home. All he wants is money and power without putting in the required effort or work. He is so lazy that he needs someone to do his thinking for him. Even after that, they may still do the work for him,” Marvin said.

It was like Marvin knew his uncle very well. But how come he did not know what he was planning? The man has been tirelessly planning for his downfall and Marvin was acting like he did not care if his Uncle was successful in that ploy.

“We are here! Here comes the surprise of the year!” he said.

We parked at one of the parking spots in Uncle Jonah’s house. It was a mansion too, and I liked it. I quickly do my rough scanning of the area. Uncle Jonah had hired seven more guards to add to the personal guard Marvin gave him. They were well positioned but they were exposed.

“Look who is here, my distant coz,” said a fine-looking gentleman, who came out of the building to greet us.

“Hey Lucas, how are you doing man? It’s been a long time,” Marvin said.

“Wow, who is this beautiful thing that is by your side, Marvin? If it was not that I knew you, I would have said she was your babe or girlfriend or something,” Lucas said, and we all laughed or they laughed while I smiled.

“Be careful with that one, and yes, you are correct. She is not my girlfriend,” Marvin said as we walked into the living room.

It was a surprise to see Kenw sitting with Uncle Jonah in the living room. Ken was so surprised to see us and we were also as surprised as him.

“Good morning Uncle, how are you doing? I hope you are getting better?” Marvin asked his Uncle, who was also surprised to see us.

“I am fine Marvin, I never thought you would visit, not any time soon,” Uncle Jonah said.

“I am sorry it took this long but you are blood and I should have come sooner. I can see that you have beefed up your security. That is good” Marvin said.

“Yeah, thanks Marvin, I am glad you came,” said Uncle Jonah, and turning to me he asked, “And who is this beautiful young lady? Don’t tell me you got yourself a wife to be?” Uncle Jonah teased Marvin.

I could see from Ken’s facial expression he did not like the way the conversation was going, and he quickly replied.

“She is the cleaner in the office I told you about. Have you forgotten that you met her at the birthday party?” Ken said, looking at me through the side of his eyes like I had stolen something from him.

“Hmm, I see, well, Ken, are you now an informant?” Marvin asked him. Ken was dumb, he could not utter a word and Marvin continued.

“Uncle, please meet Cass, the head of my security team and my current Chief Security Officer!” Marvin said.

I was so proud of my Marvin, I could not help but smile as I looked at how Ken felt embarrassed. Marvin knew how to do these kinds of things when one wanted to bring him or anyone close to him down or make them look inferior. I thought Ken would have learned by now.

“Good Morning, Uncle Jonah, You have a lovely place,” I said, still smiling.

“Thank you Cass, good to finally meet you,” Uncle Jonah replied.

“I think your guards were stationed well but not very accurately, they are a little exposed and could easily be taken by surprise by anyone in the building,” I said.

“Now where did you get her, Marvin? I like her, you say she is your Chief Security Officer?” Uncle Jonah asked Marvin once more.

“Yes she is, and she has been doing some fantastic work,” Marvin said.

“I heard she was your cleaner, head of admin, mistress, and then girlfriend. Now you say she is your Chief of Security. What’s the matter with you Marvin?” asked Uncle Jonah.

“Nah, she was nothing like any of that. You had just your first attempt at your life but I had so many, so I thought about bringing a former marine who had to disguise,,, as so many things to gather information and get my security details right,” Marvin said, looking at Ken, who looked defeated and outplayed.

“Wow! That‘s brilliant. Your father always says you are exceptional stuff and I see that now. Enough of Cass, let me get you guys something to drink. Come, Lucas, let's fix your cousin and our guests some drinks,” said Uncle Jonah, as he beckoned Lucas to follow him and they both went into the next room.

Marvin turned to Ken. He was quite furious, “What are you doing here? And you think you could talk down on Cass every time. You are such a shameful man. What are you doing here or are you not supposed to be at work?” Marvin asked Ken, who kept looking sheepishly at him.
