“You were practically awake all through the night. Please, I would love to know what is troubling you,” Marvin said, as he gave me a peck on my forehead.

I was very grateful that someone was watching me while I slept, but honestly, there were so many reasons why I could not sleep. There was this sudden urgency to build networks and influences that would protect my loved ones forever.

“You were watching me all through the night, practically you did not sleep yourself,” I replied.

“That would be difficult with you in the bed,” Marvin said.

“Are you sure you were watching me or wanting to see whether I could change Marvin and he loved it, his eyes lit with a broad smile.

“I would not mind that,” Marvin said, and tried to hold my breast.

It was like a relax action. He was on the floor at just that moment: I had twisted his arm, turned him around and threw him to the floor. Both of us looked at ourselves with the utmost shock.

“I am so sorry, I don’t know what came over me, Marvin,” I said, as I was almost in tears, trying to understand what I did and why I did what I did.

“It’s okay Cassie, but I recommend you see Doctor Jake, he could help you with whatever is going on, unless you are saying you need a psychiatrist,” Marvin said.

“I do not need a shrink, I said I would be fine,” i replied as I left the bed and Marvin glanced at my beautiful naked body,

‘If you say so, Cassie,” Marvin said.

“Does Ken know I am here? because if he does, then so does Uncle Jonah,” I said, trying to bring up something new to cover up what just happened.

“No, he thinks we are still quarrelling and I want to keep it that way,” Marvin said.

“Please do. I don’t even know what Ken has on you that ypu keep him that close,” I said as I finished my bath and start dressing. I had to leave early so that I could meet up with Larry.

“Leaving?” Marvin asked.

“Yeah, Larry and I have some business deals to close,” I said.

I left Marvin’s mansion feeling a little heavy, probably from the lack of sleep from last night. The echoes of a sleepy night were actually playing some discordant sounds in my head.

I felt different if I had not been with Marvin a a couple of weeks. Everything feels different these days.The weight of unspoken truths hung heavy as I made my way to meet Larry. The city was waking up, but my thoughts remained shrouded in the emptiness from lack of sleep.

I felt very guilty not telling him that I was pregnant with his child. I thought I had the best opportunity to tell him last night but the words failed to come out of my mouth. The aim was not to hurt him anyway but to keep him focused till we are done with our collective enemies.

Larry was already waiting for me in front of the hotel. I could see that he was not looking comfortable. His eyes met my eyes and I could see a sense of urgency in his gaze.

“Senator Thomas had just sent some men to kill Senator Alby. They are on their way as they just left some 10 minutes ago. We need to stop them. We need to move, Cassie” Larry said, almost pulling me into the car as I dropped off the one that took me from Marvi’s Mansion.

“How many are they? Did you get a head count?” I asked.

“Two, maybe three,” Larry replied.

“Anyone we know?” I asked.

“I did not get to see them,” he replied.

“Please tell me we are fully loaded up and my knives and clothes?” I asked.

“Back seat, Cassie and please hurry up, get dressed,” Larry ordered me.

I knew time was of the essence and with an affirmative nod of my head I quickly moved to the back seat to get dressed as Larry and I set off to intervene.

We got to Senator Alby's residence just in time to see Senator Thomas' men approach the entrance. Larry quickly stopped the car and we approached the house. Larry took the back while I took the front.

We moved in quickly with purpose, with the intention of disrupting the unfolding plan of Senator Thomas and preventing what could be a fatal strike.

Senator Alby was with his family at the dinner. The maid and his personal security guard were rounded up by the other man from Senator Thomas.

“Senator Alby, I have a message from someone. The person’s family you hurt instead of him. You made a mistake, any last words?” The man who came in from the front door said.

“If I were you I wouldn’t be doing that,” I said.

‘And who the f-ck are you?” he asked.

“The one that is about to take the both of you down if you do not drop your weapons,” I said.

“You can see that it is two against one,” he said.

“I won’t bet on it if you know the lady that is holding this gun,” I said.

I could not wait for Larry anymore. The man he followed from the back is already there with a gun pointed at the maid and the security aide. I quickly shot other of them.

First I shot the one talking to me on the forehead, while I shot the other in the stomach as the security guard disarmed him while he was on the floor.

Larry stepped in with another man, tied up his mouth and hands and pushed him onto the floor on top of the dead guy.

“Where have you been?” I shouted at Larry.

“Handling that guy,” Larry said, “ remember I told you that there could be two or three,” he continued.

“Next time please give me the exact numbers,” I shouted again.

“Who the hell are you guys?” Senator Alby shouted.

"Sit your ass down,” I and Larry shouted at him.

I asked the security officer who was pointing a gun at me, if he was okay. He looked at me and nodded and I asked hime to put the gun down and sit down with the senator's family.

He hesitated at first, but when he looked again at the men on the floor he grasped that I did not come for the Senator’s family.

“Larry, can you please take the Senator’s family to the bedroom so that I can chat with the Senator?” I asked.

“Please do not hurt my family,” the senator pleaded.

“Okay, everyone you heard the lady, please don’t try anything funny, I do not have all your time to waste here,” said Larry.

“Please, who are you? Are you the FBI or something, please speak to me?” the Sanator pleaded.

I asked the Senator to tie up all the men on the floor who had tried to kill him and his family and he obeyed and did a pretty job. I asked him to tie the stomach of the guy I shot too.

He asked again “ Who are you guys?”

“These other guys are from Senator Thomas,” I said.

At the mention of Senator Thomas he suddenly became pale and more worried. He turned to me this time.

"Who are you people?" Senator Alby asked, his eyes searching for answers.

I stepped forward, meeting his gaze with a solemn intensity. "Senator Alby, I'm the one who rescued Senator Thomas's daughter from the fools you sent to kidnapp his innocent daughter and I was also supposed to be the one to end your life."

His eyes widened, a cocktail of disbelief and realization coloring his expression. "Why? What have I done to deserve this? You can’t just kill me", the Seantor said.

I was raven mad when he said that. What are these politicians high on? You kidnapped his daughter and thought you would go free.

“You kidnapped…” I had not finished when he interrupted.

“...Senator Thomas has done much worse!” he said.

“I don’t care!” was my reply as I took out my silencer once more, aiming at his head
