We moved towards the shots fired, it was from two gun men as Lucas was rushed to Doctor’s Jake’s hospital. Larry moved to cover me while i maneuver to flank the shooters. Lucas said one of them was the Contractor but it does not looked any was but the body movement was like the Contractor I know.
"Cassie, we need to take him down," Larry urged, his weapon blazzing with every shot.
The air buzzed with tension as the gang faced off against the Contractor, a silent dance between predators in the concrete jungle. I finally concluded that this could e the Cotractor and an assassin because they had shot two of our men and they had this movement as if it was their shadows that overtook their being, they were sleek.
“I am going for the uinmasked guy cover me, take him down if you have to, I do’t thik we would e takig ayoe here alive,” I said as I made a move to expose oe of the gun men position.
The shots rang out, a symphony of violence that shattered the silence. The Contractor moved with elusive grace, avoiding bullets with an otherworldly dexterity. I knew they understood I was, a force of nature when it come to gun battle. I pursued relentlessly, my eyes locked on the umasked figure. While the gang and Larry esured the Contractor, the masked figure has no place to run to.
The other gun man tried to move to higher ground to get a clearer view of us and if he does that Larry and the men would be exposed. I had to move quickly. “Larry he is gaiing grounds I need your cover,” I shouted.
Larry wanted to but the rate at which the machine gun of the Contractor was working he could not do much, they were clearly over powered. It was either I get exposed or ther would be runned down and eventually gunned down.
“Cassie don’t do it, you would e exposed it is a trap ad you know it,” said Larry, if was actually reading my every move.
“Don’t focus on me, please, focus on them. We need to get back out advatage okay,” I said as I moved to carry out the only availabel option to me, expose yourself ad save your team.
“Guys get ready, two of you shoot at the unmasked shooter ow,” larry said to two of his men on the right.
“We caot see him,” cried one of the men.
“Shoot his position, CAssie is going up, do it now,” Larry instructed.
I went out the Contractor aimimg at me while I was aiming at the unmasked assassi, I kew it was the wrog move ut ut was the oly play to save laryy and the me. If oly larry could ust this opportuity to aid at the Cotractor. The Cotractor shot me and my left arm flew out at the struck of a bullet, i tried to take shelter at under one of the small metal box, still exposed to the umasked shooter was was ow facig serious heeat from bith our men.
“Got you! You motherfucker!” Larry said as the umaske shooter went quiet, the sound of his gun giving out instrcutions to its bullets was cut off by Larry, it was a clean shot.
The alley transformed into a battleground, shadows converging and dissipating with every gunshot. The echoes of the confrontation resonated through the night, a clash between the Martinez Gang and the Contractor.
The Contractor now has to change his position. I and the Gang mebers were already waiting for him to make that move while Larry positioned himself for another clean shot.
It was a move a I kned too wel as if is woven in dark areas of my head. I shot him even before he could bring hos head out of the hiding place. He fell lifelesss on the ground.
As the dust settled, the Contractor lay motionless on the cold pavement. Cassie, her breath ragged, approached cautiously. The masked facade concealed the identity of the elusive adversary, a riddle left unanswered.
"Cassie, is he...?" Larry trailed off, uncertainty clouding his expression.
"He's down," I confirmed, my voice steady but my mind racing. The Contractor's reign of terror had left a trail of destruction, and the shadows that clung to them seemed to whisper of a deeper conspiracy.
I shall now began my reign. The contractor is gone. Well , if the Contractor then he was very good. He took out six of our men and got my left arm responding to treatment from gun shots.
As the gang regrouped,I turned her attention to Lucas. The young man was battered but alive and he bore the scars of the encounter. "Larry we need to go secure Lucas in the Hospital?"
I thought we just killed the Contractor,” Larry said looking rather confused.
Yes! To everyone but to us he still lives, This is not the Contractor but we need to buy time Larry,” I said. Tying my arm wth a strio of my clothes.
“That’s deception, and you know it.” Larry said.
“Everyone is being deceived and no one has seen the Contractor except me, so how can you tell this is or this is not who we think he is?” I said.
We got to the see Doctor Jake, he saud Lucas had four gunshots and was lucky to be brought here alive. I was not happy because he could not take out one of the bullets in Lucas.
I went to where Lucas was kept, he was not looking good. His gaze haunted, recounted the events that led to the Contractor's relentless pursuit. The confession painted a grim picture of betrayal, manipulation, and a shadowy conspiracy that ensnared them all.
"The Contractor wanted me dead because I talked. I told you about Marvin, about Ken, about everything," Lucas admitted, his eyes meeting Cassie's with a mix of fear and remorse.
Yes, Lucas, you also promised him some documents and a share of the company you will never own,” I said.
The revelation echoed through the hospital, a testament to the intricate web of deception that had entangled all of us. I have sworn to be the ever vigilant protector as I contemplated what path lies ahead of us. The Contractor might seem defeated for now, but I know who I killed was not him. The shadows he casted lingered, harboring secrets that threatened to unravel their world. His was the Shadow of Deception.
