CHAPTER 111: SNEAKY

I did not want to stay indoors surrounded by the shadows of uncertainty when I knew the man with answers to what I needed was somewhere alive cooking something more dangerous than what he had done before. When I could easily smell the solution to solving my puzzle and knew that I was very close to pouncing on it.

I knew I had to make a move, but I also knew I had to be careful not to hurt anyone who had been protecting me or had my interest at heart. I wanted to call June, who is someone I knew who was battle-ready, but the feeling that she had been after my life because she learned that it was I that Marvin loved cannot be ignored. However, I needed whatever information that Alex had and had to go alone.

Under the shroud of darkness, I was fueled by a relentless determination to uncover the truth, and I stealthily made my way to Alex's location. The dimly lit alleyways and silent streets served as a clandestine backdrop to the clandestine operation orchestrated by the Martinez Gang. I followed the path. I was fully dressed with a fitting long coat to cover my protruding stomach.

I would not be surprised to find Alex in his place, as every mole is always confident of their security by superior backing. I only prayed that I would not meet Larry there because there would be a collision of ideas if we met at Alex’s place.

I got to Alex’s place in no time and took out all the bodyguards. I was surprised at myself because it seemed so easy even with the pregnancy. He was not surprised to see me. I knew he was expecting me too because it does not take time for me or Larry to smell a mole. We always have our ways of getting them easy.

“You are here to kill me, right?” said Alex as he poured himself a drink and sat on the only single chair in the room.

“No she is not, but after she is done you would have wished she killed you,” said Larry, who was equally skilled at navigating the shadows, and had joined me at Alex's hideout. The air was tense with anticipation as the two of us executed different plans. Larry plans to feed Alex false information, but I do not think that I have any such time to waste.

I placed all the things I wanted to use for my work in the extraction of information I needed from Alex as I called Larry apart to talk to him. I whispered to him that I only needed 15 minutes to get all the information I needed, and then he could feed Alex with whatever information he wanted to feed him.

“How do you intend to know that he is telling the truth?” Larry asked.

“I brought everything I needed, Larry. I came with a portable polygraphic machine, and I am going to use it. Is there any other question you want to ask me, Larry, or should I start?" I said, looking at Larry as he stood confused while gazing at me.

As I confronted Alex, a cold determination emanated from within me. "You betrayed us, Alex. You've been feeding information to the Contractor, and now it's time for you to pay the price." I said.

Alex, cornered and exposed, attempted to feign innocence, but I wasn't swayed. With each question posed by me, Larry skillfully manipulated the narrative, weaving a web of misinformation that would mislead the Contractor.

"I have done nothing wrong. I am a table member of the Martinez Gang and have my faithfuls, so I know if anything happens to me, they will be coming after you," Alex said.

"I do not need to remind you of who I am, right? Well, I guess I do. I don't care who you know or who backs you. Whether they are members of the Martinez Gang or the Contractor, I am going to kill them all," I said in anger, deviating from the plan.

I went to where he was sitting and could see that he was already nervous. I wish I knew that I had destined in my heart that today was going to be the last day he tested any drink or breathed any air. I planted the Polygraph chips on his forehead, his chest, and his wrists.

"Okay, let us start all over. Here is how we will play this game. I have planted some polygraph chips on you, as you can see. I will ask you a question and if the answer you give to me indicates you are lying, I will shoot a part of you until you can no longer talk," I said as I took out my silencer and placed it on my lap as I sat opposite him.

"Give me the location of the contractor," I said.

"I don't know the Contractor," Alex said.

I immediately aimed at his foot.

"You cannot do that to me," he shouted as I shot off his big right toe, and he shouted in agony.

"You see, what you just said was a lie," I said.

He began to cry in pain and agony and I gave him some time to breathe and think of his next step. He looked at me and saw that I was serious about finishing what I started.

"Larry, please stop her, I am a table Member, please stop her," he cried.

"I am sorry Alex, you may have to tell her what you know or else she will keep shooting you.

The interrogation intensified, and as Alex realized the depth of the deception, panic set in. In a moment of vulnerability, he divulged the Contractor's location, unwittingly falling into the trap carefully laid by the gang.

"I won't let you ruin everything we've built. Where is the Contractor hiding?" I demanded, my voice echoing through the room.

Amidst the tension, Alex, succumbing to the pressure, revealed the critical information. "Fine, fine! He's at the abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city. Just leave me alone!"

"Where exactly?" I shouted, pointing my silencer to his fingers.

"Crux Road, plot 1551," he said.

"You see, Alex, that is the first truth you have told since I met you," I said.

With the information secured, I wasted no time. In a swift move, I eliminated Alex, shooting him in the forehead while Larry watched on. Killing Alex was severing the link between the traitor and the Contractor. Larry had witnessed the culmination of my intricate plan, a chess move that would bring them one step closer to confronting our elusive foe.

Marvin and the gang received the update from Larry. I searched for the location with my phone. The holographic displays now showed the location of the abandoned warehouse, a pivotal piece of information that would shape the next phase of my pursuit. The stakes had never been higher as I prepared to face the Contractor on my own terms.
