The moment Silvia handed me the bottle of milk, I noticed how her fingers trembled. Her nails tapped against the plastic, and her smile looked stretched too wide to be genuine.

“Cheers,” she said brightly, forcing cheer into her tone.

I tilted my head. “This brand has several flavors,” I said lightly. “Let me see which one you picked for me.” I leaned closer to read the label, then lifted my gaze. “Oh? You bought the same flavor for yourself?”
