Dr. Li didn’t even glance at the room key.

He slipped it straight into his pocket with an easy smile. “You’re really thoughtful. Even prepared a room for me. I’ll head back now—I rushed over as soon as I landed. My suitcase is still at the nurses’ station.”

Damien gave a low hum. “Mm.”

No explanation. No elaboration.

Dr. Li didn’t press further. He waved lazily and left.

The door shut.
