The air in my dorm room is still vibrating when his mouth finally tears away from mine.

I’m breathless. Shocked. Furious. My pulse is thundering under my skin like it wants to break free, and Damien is still standing too close—close enough that his breath ghosts along my cheek, close enough that I can taste the heat he left behind.
