I intended to set the kitchen on fire.

The chicken was burnt. The vegetables appeared as if they’d been massacred.. Whatever on earth I attempted with the potatoes resulted in something that looked like cement.

"Alpha I ought to..." the chief chef began.

"No." I swept the wreckage into the garbage. "I promised I'd prepare dinner for her. I truly meant it."
