Elena Torres (POV)

I was rooted to where I was standing with my right hand still shooting out in the air in shock. Selene was writhing in pain at the bottom of the stairs, a pool of blood surrounding her as she cried out loudly in pain.

"No, no, no, I didn't do it, I swear on my life. I didn't even know she was behind me, I only moved to the side and she fell," I rushed to explain without being asked, beads of sweat forming on my forehead making my make up feel sticky and itchy.
