He remained motionless muscles tense and wound up jaw moving as if he were crushing bones with his teeth.

"Say it to them " Selene urged, her tone gentle and understanding. "Say it's genuine. That you love her for her self not for what she offers you. Say…" her eyes met mine "...say she isn't merely a fix, for your troubles."

Andrews gaze locked with mine from afar. Within those eyes I witnessed all the things I had feared to behold.
