"Silas," I called out to him hesitantly as his hand remained between us.

His deep brown eyes bore into mine and his gaze darted to my lips before they returned to my eyes. For a wild second, I was sure I had heard him wrong yet his eyes gave me a glimpse into his thoughts.

"I'm not handing you over to the rogues," he announced as he pulled away and I blinked rapidly as I stared at him, walking back towards his table and taking his seat.
