Lily's POV
To think leaving the meeting in a sour mood would be the end of it was a wrong thought because by the time I got home, I was fuming.
From the moment Leo smirked at me to the way he easily said those words like he hadn't ignored me hours ago made me have the urge to punch a wall, or throw something, or better still, smash his freaking gorgeous face.
Yes, even in my rage I could still agree the man was ruggedly beautiful in the hottest way you could imagine. His appearance even had Daisy dazed for some moments as the doors slid shut and the elevator probably dropped to the basement parking lot where he had said before, his car was.
I wasn't waiting for her to come out of her trance as I stormed to my car. The anger pulsing in my veins happened to rush to my head as it prevented me from thinking straight to figure out where exactly in my bag I had put the keys.
"Let me," Daisy said appearing right on time as she snatched the bag from me and retrieved the key. I still stood there growling with a scowl when she gestured to the other side of the vehicle. "Go sit, I'll drive."
I didn't bother to utter a word in protest because for her safety and mine, it was a good call. The engine started and we were driving away from the premises of Steele Corp, my eyes fixed on the side mirror as I glared at the building we left behind, hoping my rage reached Leo and whatever the fuck he was doing there.
"How about we get dinner?" Daisy asked after a minute. "It's almost 7pm, and I'm sure none of us are ready to cook."
I didn't respond, instead, I slid down the glass window and poked my head out, hoping the evening breeze and scenery could melt away the annoyance I carried with me.
"You get pizza on Saturday nights right?" She asked into the silence and when I still didn't say anything after seconds. "Pizza it is."
I gave her a thumbs up in approval, to which I heard her mutter something under her breath as she accelerated the car in the direction of my favorite pizza place.

It was 8 pm by the time we got home, and I set the 3 boxes of pizza on the living room table while Daisy brought in our bags and locked the car. She strut in shortly after and I told. "Going to take a shower, will be down soon."
She had told me in the car she was sleeping over and as always, I didn't object. In case you were wondering, Daisy and I go back a few years. We had met at an event after I had graduated college and we hit it off.
She is a year older than me but the same age with Ciara. Despite the little difference, we got along fine and even if I was hesitant to ask her to be my assistant, she agreed to take the job in a heartbeat.
"No problem," she answered from the entrance. "I plan to do same and have a change of clothes in my room too."
"Okay." I blew her a kiss to which she scoffed and I winked.
Waltzing into my room, I wasted no time in getting undressed and into the bathroom. Setting the temperature to warm, I got to rinse the days stress and events off my skin.
That didn't work as 2 men whom I barely knew, had made their way into my brain and decided to mess with my thoughts. Roman for trying to play a twisted mind game by calling us for a re-evaluation, and Leo who seemed nice at first but now like someone with insane mood swings.
The more I thought about it, the angrier I got. To think I was finally at peace after Caden and his drama, but no, I found myself spiralling.
Not wanting to spiral further, I got dressed in cotton shorts and a loose t-shirt, and made my way back to the living room. There I spotted Daisy sitting cross-legged on the floor, a remote in her hold as she swiped through trending movies on Netflix.
"Thank God," she sighed the moment she turned at he sound of my footsteps, her hair in a loose bun atop her head and dressed in brown vest with sweatpants. "I was beginning to think I would start without you."
"Which of them," I snorted as I strolled to the couch beside where she sat. "The movie or pizza."
"Both," she shrugged, and I sent her the stink eye. She simply ignored me and grabbed a box, pushing another in my path. "Can you finish that?"
"After the eventful day I had?" I asked more to myself than her and shivered unconsciously as I grabbed the box and placed it on my thighs as I settled down. "I might eat a whole house."
"Then you'd need wine to help," she bobbed her head in agreement to her suggestion as she hauled her weight upwards. "You still have some right?"
"Might need to restock soon, but yes," I said even if she was halfway across the room. I heard the sound of glasses, afterward the fridge, and I didn't need to be a genius to know she was fishing for ice.
I made use of the time to open the pizza box and tear off the top to use as a makeshift plate, hence I was too lazy to go and get one. Putting 2 slices on it, I leaned my back on the cushion just as Daisy returned and poured me a glass with a cube of ice.
"Thank you," I raised the glass for effect and she winked.
She clicked on a rom-com I hadn't seen and we proceeded to eat and watch in silence. However it was interrupted when I saw her shaking her head and asked. "What?"
"I just imagined Ciara's reaction if she saw us now," she chuckled.
"Shit I just felt a chill," I muttered, picturing it. "Let's not think about it."
"Trust me I regret it already," she shook her head as if to rid it of the image.
"Speaking of Ciara," I mumbled, getting lost in thought. "She'd prefer to hear we got drunk at a club than at home right?"
"Her way of reasoning is weird, but yes, she'd choose that over this," Daisy blurted.
"So what if we," I started to say.
"What if we what?" Daisy inquired.
"Get dressed and go to a bar, or better still to a club," I uttered, my lips moving faster than my brain.
"What?" Daisy almost choked and gulped the whole wine in her glass. She angled her head towards me and her eyes widened. "You are serious?"
"As I'll ever be," I declared, a smile beginning to form on my lips. "Some loud music, booze and hot guys is what I need right now."
"We can do that here, at home, and watch hot guys on the TV Lily," she said in a breath. "Besides I don't have anything to wear."
"For someone who reminds me how rich I am, you seem to forget about it more than I do," I laughed and proceeded to finish the last slice of pizza in my box.
Pointing at the third untouched box I said, "that should serve for a nice breakfast or midnight snack when we return."
"So we are really going out tonight," Daisy mumbled, voice clouded in disbelief as her gaze followed my movements.
"Yes sweetheart," I grinned as I picked up the now half empty bottle of wine.
