Is this a mistake...or is this where we are supposed to be?

Alaric's large hand is on the small of my back and I hate how good it makes me feel.

I should be strong and push him away, but my toes curl the second his calloused fingers drag over my cold skin. Something unravels and my breath comes out a little too sharp. Goosebumps that weren’t invited race down my spine like a warning I’m too far gone to heed.
