"You're lost without her, aren't you?" Landon asks me as the bartender places two glasses of neat whisky on the bar in front of us.

The bar is quiet around us. It's that in-between time when the after-work crowd have left, but the partiers won't turn up for a few hours yet. There is gentle music playing through the sound system.
