"Is that Elle?" Tallulah asks me some time later.

She's sat next to me on a sofa, supposedly listening to Clara talking about her unborn baby but her eyes have drifted to where Jack is talking to a woman.

"Yeah. How did you guess?" I whisper back.

"The way he's looking at her," she replies. "It's pretty obvious he loves her."

I try to see what Tallulah sees. She's right of course, but strangely enough the only two people who need to be able to bloody well see it ...
