"We won't have as long together as we did last time," Mick is saying wistfully.

My eyes don't leave his but I don't respond. If I did, I'd probably say something I shouldn't.

His hand is in my hair. It's not gentle as his fingers tighten around the strands and pull. I don't resist, allowing his pull to guide my head, so that I'm closer to him now.
