AVA’S POV

I don’t know how it happened. One second, I stood there, and my heart raced so fast in my chest that I could hear the beat, words I had never thought I’d say spilled from my lips.

The next second, Nicholas closed the distance between us, his eyes burned into mine with an intensity that stripped me bare.
