Mia
"You lied to me and with my best friend Mia, you sly!"
I followed her voice and found them at the balcony close by. Her eyes spotted me immediately and she scoffed unbelievably.
"Stephanie love, I can explain" Durex mutters with panic, but she was too stunned to speak as she covered her mouth.
"Mia" she uttered staring at the both of us.
"You both planned this, you want to kill me and run away with my inheritance right?" She cried moving backward and shaking her head.
"Stephanie, I swear I never knew, I'm a victim here, he is the Durex I spoke about" I confessed embarrassed but she wouldn't believe.
I tried to step closer to her but she screeches that I should stay away.
She placed her hands on her chest and then swallowed. Stephanie was having complications.
She was trying to gain her breath, her eyes rolled to the back as she bent slightly.
"You both are getting arrested, I can't believe you betrayed me, I was willing to help!" She yelled while quickly taking out her phone, to make a call.
But Durex was swift to grab her, yanking her body to himself.
He covered her mouth with his hand, just so she wouldn't make a sound.
"Durex! What are you doing?" I brawl in a low tone while hitting him with my hands to let go of her, but he flung me aside and I hugged the pillar close to me.
"Now listen to me spoilt brat, you don't get to make decisions on your own now"
She was struggling in his arms as she widened her eyes at me. Those eyes begged me to save her because she knows her fate in his hand.
"Let's end this quickly" he furthers in a cold tone while moving her closer to the rail of the balcony.
"No, please don't" I pleaded pulling myself from pillar.
I spotted a flower vase which I pulled with me to use on him.
"Goodbye princess" he whispers and pushed her off the rail before I could get to him.
A sharp scream lungs in the air and it was replaced by a heavy thud from Stephanie.
I froze, my face grew ashen as I gasped unable to scream or breath. Durex was panting heavily as he stuttered back.
All I could hear now were murmurs and more screams from people below the balcony.
"Stephanie!" I yelled and out of repulse, I broke the vase on Durex head.
He growl and collapsed to the ground while his body writhes.
I couldn't move from that spot as my eyes met her phone which was close to his leg.
"Hello, Stephanie...can you hear me?" A voice muffled through her phone and I fell limply to the ground while sobbing.
"No...what do I do?" I wailed, turning pale and shocked by the turn of event. Everything was happening fast.
"Mia?"
I shuddered, hearing my name from someone else.
Nervously I turned around and found miles with his phone to his ear and his eyes peering at me.
His phone fell from his hand as he rushed towards the balcony and then drew in a long breath.
Miles body viberates, he shifted his eyes to Durex who was writhing on the ground.
I was still holding the broken pieces of vase in my hand, and Mia's phone which I had subconsciously carried.
"Fuck!" Miles screeches and threw a fierce gaze at me. His eyes had accusations already and I shook my head, speechless and only tears stream down.
"What have you done!" He roared and fear gripped me. His vein tightens around his neck as his breath thickens.
"I-i didn't do anything, I swear I..."
"You killed my sister!" He retorts cutting me short as he pulled me from the ground, glaring into my eyes.
He was so close that I kept looking up and up at him.
I forgot how to breathe as his hotness simmered through the gown I wore.
I just didn't know how my tears dried up and I was quaking terribly.
"You'd pay for this and you are not going to jail... you're dying by my hands!" He threatened.
He pushed me aside while suddenly running out. If I hadn't held the pillar for support, I would have fallen roughly to the marble floor.
I paced out of the balcony too, my head heavy and all I could think about was my daughter.
Just a step away from that spot, I found some bodyguards stomping closer to me, he had called them on me.
Adrenaline pumps inside me, nothing of what I say would make miles believe me, he has hated me from the first day we met.
I must live for my daughter. I stuttered backward and began a race, as my life depended on it.
If I can get to the hospital on time, I'd be able to escape with my daughter. I knew every secret turns in this palace, because of Stephanie and that's my ticket out.
I managed to get out of the castle through the gates before it was automatically locked up.
However, getting to the hospital was impossible because the bodyguards were chasing after me.
The only way I thought of was running towards the woods which was a distance from the glass castle.
The woods were off limits and no one knows what lies beyond it but fear was my driving force to venture into it for safety.
My feet snake through fallen branches, stems, my face and body were greeted by the cold and slaps from leaves.
It's creepy here but I shun the danger and keep running because my life now depends on it.
Not until I felt a sharp thrust in my shoulder and I slump to the ground.
My body rolled over a sloppy ground and then landed at the foot of a cave. The excruciating pain was killing.
I could still hear their voices but above me. Feebly, I sat upright, pulled out the twig from my shoulder.
I whimpered softly just so they wouldn't hear me, while I rested my back on the rocky wall of the cave.
Soon there was silence but then coyotes were yapping and wolves howled. The atmosphere was tense.
I hauled myself from the wall, which resulted to a scratch on my back, and I staggered forward.
My body could barely make a dent but I had to push myself.
However, I stopped when I found a stray wolf approaching me.
I'd be eaten, I was sure of that. I forgot how to breathe as my mind went blank.
Our eyes locked as it retracted its teeth, its eyes widened in circles and it scratched its claws on the ground.
It began to leap towards me and I attempted to move back only to fall.
I was still staring at it, panting heavily and ready to be devoured but something strange happened.
It let out its tongue and licked me on the face, its saliva dripped on me and I grimaced, irritated.
Its act made me more confused. I didn't touch it because I was jinxed.
Its eyes furrowed at me as my breath came in short.
While I attempted to rise, it suddenly went low on its hind legs and bowed its head at me.
"I knew you'd come, you found your way back to us...chosen one" a serene voice muttered.
How long have I been running?
