Cassien asked Ivy to walk with him just after dawn.

She stood by the window when he spoke, arms crossed, eyes fixed outside like she was watching for something only she could see.

“Come with me,” Cassien said.

Ivy did not turn. “Where?”

“The academy.”

That made her look at him.

“Why?” she asked flatly.

“To help you remember,” Cassien replied. “Or to prove that you won’t.”
