I walked into the office and headed straight for my desk.

Walking slowly, I stole a quick glance at Lewis's bottom- to- top glass walls and heaved a sigh of relief when I saw that the blinds were down.

I knew if he saw me right now, he'd begin his scoldings and ask where I've been to and what took me so long.
