"You didn't hear me?" His father asked, staring at me.

"No I--- I mean what you said, I..." I stammered.

"Oh dear, I was talking about Lewis, as you know, he isn't that patient," he said and the worry in me grew bigger.

Who fed him such rumour?

"Are you okay Shelly?" He asked, looking at my shocked face.

"No I..." I started but cut short, when Lewis's hand came banging down on the table.

"Shelly! What did you tell him?"

"Mr. King I--- I didn't tell him anything."

Yeah! I didn't give a lame lie that we were dating all I did was badmouth this jerk!

"Oh! I wasn't meant to know yet?" His father asked and Lewis was quick to respond.

"Father there is nothing going on with..."

"Hold it there son, I thought we agreed on something? Isn't Shelly the woman you told me about?"

"Father I..."

"No! No! It's okay son, if she isn't, there is no problem but you're going to have to show me your woman this evening."

There was a pause. Father and son were staring at themselves.

Finally, Lewis opened his mouth to say something but the door swung open.

I turned my head and watched as Liam and Kelvin came in through the door.

"Oh, there are your brothers, they always love to be late." Lewis's father said and I had to wipe the sweat from my temple.

This must be a joke. Kelvin is his son and Lewis's brother too!

I felt a sick feeling in my stomach as I watched the men take their seat, their both eyes on me.

I blinked and looked away. I was really so uncomfortable.

My boyfriend's here, the man I slept with last night's here as well then my boss who I mistook for his twin is staring at me and can't wait to attack me.

And it isn't helping that their father thinks I'm in a relationship with Lewis.

Why would I date that jerk?

"What did we miss?" I heard Liam ask, "is there anything you'd love to know from us or has Lewis said it all?"

"Oh, I was going to discuss business but I'm so happy right now, that will have to be later."

"Of course, anything you say father," it was Kelvin's voice this time.

"Shelly," The chairman called and I turned.

"These are my sons, they all work at your branch. Lewis of course, is your boss but what about Kelvin and Liam, you've seen them at work haven't you?"

I opened my mouth to talk but Kelvin was faster.

"Father, the company's so big and we're all her higher ups, it'll be hard for her to see us. Infact, this is my first time seeing her." He said and I felt bad.

Did Kelvin just deny me?

The chairman nodded, "that's very true."

"Of course father, what did you say her name was again?" Kelvin asked.

At this question, the chairman faced me.

Realizing he wanted me to speak, I reluctantly opened my mouth.

"Umm I'm Shelly Mchan." I said feeling very awkward.

"Oh," Kelvin said, running his fingers along his glass of wine, "so you just started working here."

"Oh, yes."

Of course yes! I just started working here today but as a matter of fact I've been fired twice and my boss already hates me!

I screamed in my mind.

"Wow! And which department are...?"

"She's my PA and I don't understand why you're interrogating her!" Lewis cut in, his voice, sounding very annoyed.

From my side, I could see a smile form on the chairman's lips.

Oh no! Does he think Lewis is jealous or something? He's obviously annoyed and can't wait to yell at me.

"Now that's it Lewis, don't you dare yell at me! She's an employee and I can question her all I want."

"She's my PA and I don't need you meddling in my business."

"And who said..."

"That's enough the both of you," Liam cut in, "you're arguing before father and an employee!"

"Your brother's right," the chairman added.

"But Lewis was..."

"Kelvin, I said that's enough. You seem so interested in her, looking for how to get into her pants?"

Liam said and I felt embarrassed even though Kelvin's been in my pants several times. I mean he's my boyfriend of course.

"Liam! That last part wasn't necessary." The chairman cautioned.

"Sorry," I heard Liam quickly say.

"Now I don't want Shelly to be seen as just an employee. As you know I'm very happy to see her as one of my sons girlfriend."

The chairman said and the men were suddenly talking all at once.

"Oh that would be nice, She's an amazing woman, isn't that right Shelly?" Liam said winking at me and I had to look away before someone else noticed.

"Father please can you stop," I heard Lewis say.

"Father how absurd," Kelvin was talking now.

"She's an employee, dating in the office shouldn't be encouraged and besides, her kind of women aren't my type or that of my brothers."

Now I felt like someone just stabbed me in the heart with a knife.

What did Kelvin just say? That I'm not his type? Did he just deny me?

I felt so angry and couldn't wait till we go outside cause I have so many questions that I need him to answer.

"Speak for yourself Kelvin," I heard Liam say.

My eyes were on the table. I was so angry that I stopped listening to what Kelvin and Liam were saying.

Then I felt someone looking at me.

I raised my head to see. It was the chairman.

He was staring at me and Lewis, none of us were talking.

"Don't you have something to attend to Lewis?" I heard the chairman ask and I watched as Lewis nodded and replied.

"I do but you said you wanted to see me, so I stayed back."

Slowly the chairman nodded then stood up.

"We're done talking here, you all should get home safely."

"Of course father, you too." The men said as they rose to their feet.

Following them, I stood up as well and together we all watched as the chairman left through the door.

Oh I couldn't wait to walk out through that door and ask Kelvin to explain all the nonsense he had said.

I rearranged my skirt and turned to start walking away when Lewis's voice stopped me.

"Ms. Mchan, follow me."

Oh no! I'm in trouble.

I followed him out the door and into an empty room.

Once we got in, he shut the door and pushed me hard against it.

"Ouch!" I let out as my back hit the door.

"What did you tell my father?"

"I didn't tell him anything."

"Shut up you little liar!"

"I'm not lying!" I yelled back.

"I thought you were just a horny whore but it turns out you're a golddigger as well."

Now I got angry.

"Let go of me!" I said and tried to free myself but his grip was too strong.

"Mr. King let go of me or I'll scream!"

Hearing this, he quickly released me and without wasting time, I ran out through the door.

At home, I sat on my couch and refused to cry. Instead I just looked at my hands, counting my fingers.

How could all these happen in one day?

My boss fired me twice, his father thinks I'm in a relationship with him, Kelvin my boyfriend and Liam, the man I slept with last night are his brothers!

And how could Kelvin deny me like that?

I was still thinking when I heard a knock.

Rising up lazily from my couch, I went to the door and opened it.

I left my mouth open and stared at the man in front of me.

Dressed in a dark suit, with hands in his pockets, he stood looking annoyingly cool and handsome.

"Mr. King?" I called blinking in shock.

What was Lewis King doing at my doorstep?

He took his hands out of his pocket and looked at me.

"Ms. Mchan, follow me to dinner."
