The cool night air hit me as I stepped outside, my pulse racing. I pulled out my phone and dialed Lucas.

He picked up on the second ring. “Lucia?”

“I need a ride,” I whispered, glancing over my shoulder. The hotel lobby was quiet, but I didn’t want to risk Daniel trailing behind me.
