I hesitate a bit, then tentatively take the box from him, untying the bow shaped cord that's wrapped around it.

And I gasp, my lips parting open in shock.

Inside it is a pair of sli... slippers.

Slippers?

Holding the box in my left hand, I stretch out my right hand and dip my index finger in.

Midway, I pause.

I've never seen a pair of slippers or shoes up close before... or touched one.

I'm almost scared I'll be burned if I do.
