His words leave me puzzled, and I'm at a loss of what to say.

At my words, his eyebrows go into a deep dive, so I say;

"I always go barefeet."

Nyall's lips part of then, and he looks as if he wants to say something but then... he doesn't.

He's silent for a long while, and when I look closely at him, he seems to be deep in thoughts, his jaw working at a slow pace as he does.
