“I won’t fight them for you,” I say suddenly, letting out everything I want to say before I get cold feet.

“Or fight you for any of them. I don’t want you and Nyall to fight again, or you and Fenric, or Fenric and Nyall. I don't want you three to fight each other either. And I’m not going to be a trial you can win because you brought a prettier speech.”
