Vera’s POV.

“Vera?”

The knock on my door and Irene’s voice startles me awake. I yawn loudly and gush.

“Come in.”

Irene clicks the door open, flushing inside with smiles on her face.

“Hey, you’re still in bed?” She says rushing over to my side.

“I’m tired, Irene,” I whine as she tugs me up from the bed.

My unkempt hair falls into my face and I tuck the stray strand behind my ear.

“Today’s your graduation, big girl. Get up.”

“Not now…” I grumble ...
