The moon hung full and heavy over the training grounds. I should've been sleeping, but my ribs still ached from the trial, and every time I closed my eyes, I saw Gideon's smile. That knowing, predatory look that said he had more planned.

I found Darius on the eastern wall, staring out at the forest beyond our territory. His wolf was close to the surface tonight. I could see it in the tension of his shoulders, the way his hands gripped the stone.

"Can't sleep either?" I asked.
