As Dominic and I start our practice session on the field, I try to focus on the drills we’re running. But I keep finding myself distracted by Luna sitting on the grass with Cassie nearby.

There’s something about the way the afternoon sunlight hits Luna’s hair that makes it look like it’s glowing. She’s taken off her practice jersey because of the heat, and she looks relaxed and happy in a way I haven’t seen her look in weeks.
