I look around at my three mates and my best friend, feeling the weight of responsibility settling

on my shoulders. The threat from Liam’s father isn’t going to disappear on its own, and I refuse to spend the rest of my life looking over my shoulder.

“We need to go to him before he comes to us,” I announce firmly. “If we wait, he’ll have time to plan another attack or hire more people to help him.”
