The scream tore out of me before I realized it was mine.

Pain exploded through the bond—raw, violent, suffocating. It felt like my chest had been ripped open, like my heart was being crushed in a fist that wasn’t mine. I staggered, nearly dropping to my knees as the world tilted.

He’s dying.

Selene’s voice was a snarl of terror. He’s hurt badly. If we don’t reach him now—
