Kaelen’s POV……

Something was wrong.

I didn’t know what—no scent of blood strong enough to signal injury, no cry of pain, no alarm from the guards—but my wolf hadn’t settled since dawn. He paced beneath my skin, restless, agitated, every instinct tugging in one direction.
